This man is standing in middle of the shuk, in Machane Yehuda holding up a sign. Usually, people with signs ask for charity. This man however, asked for for Ahavat Chinam- to love your fellow Jew.
Translation of the sign:
The creator of the world (Hashem) says:
For the sake of my brothers and friends, I shall say: Peace be within you
For the sake of the House of the Lord, our God, I will seek your good
May the Lord give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace
And then:
I'm asking for Ahavat Chinam, not tzedaka!
